Wheel alignment (or tracking) is an essential part of maintaining your vehicle. Misaligned wheels can cause uneven and rapid tyre wear and could ultimately effect the handling and safety of a vehicle.
Misalignment of the wheels can also result in poor fuel economy as the vehicle will need to work harder to drive along in a straight line which is not only bad for your wallet but also the environment.
You may need a wheel alignment if:
The wheel alignment process covers the toe adjustments required in the front wheels. The technician will check the angle and directions at which your tyres are set and adjust them accordingly. As a result the vehicle should improve braking distance, drive quality, fuel consumption and even wear on the tyres.
If you notice uneven tyre wear or even a ‘wobble’ at 40 – 50mph, it’s most likely that your wheels need re-balancing. Wheel balancing is a process that ensures the weight of the wheel and tyre is even around the axle. This is achieved by placing tiny offsetting weights at specific points around the wheel.
Please note: if you are purchasing new tyres from us, wheel balancing is FREE, so this does not need to be purchased separately.
